Hello fellow anime lovers and otakus, and thank you for spending your time reading this post! As you can already notice by my different writing style, I’m not Joe from The Reviewer’s Corner. I’m Daziigirl from the anime blog UNOTAKU and The Reviewer’s Corner and I decided to do a little collaboration together.
So this is what we’ve done: Both of us recommended each other to watch 3 episodes of an anime we liked and then we wrote a post about our first impressions and if we would want to continue watching it. The Reviewer’s Corner’s post will be on my blog, while this post is uploaded on his blog. So feel free to check both out! ^-^
I got recommended to watch the anime Golden Time, and that’s what I did. I watched the first 3 episodes of this romantic comedy, so here’s my opinion to it.
¡¡SPOILER!!
Okay, so in the beginning, I must say, that when I saw the title picture, I expected something way different. I expected Kaga to be more the cool and popular type, and not the weird stalker type xD I imagined the story to be a bit more like many other romantic comedies: the unpopular high school freshman falls in love with the super popular and gorgeous looking girl in his class, or something like that. And that’s why I actually never felt like watching it before.
But that’s not the case here.
What I find very interesting about this anime is, that this time it’s not about high school students, but about college students. So the characters are a bit older and act more that way.
This anime also isn’t only a comedy, like I noticed. The main protagonist seems to have a difficult past, since he had an accident and ended up with amnesia. So I bet, that if I would continue watching it, it would also become a bit dramatic, which I find very good.
Since I didn’t watch the whole anime, I’m always trying to guess what’s going to happen in the next episodes. For example, for some reason I think that Linda will be an important character later in the show. Maybe she has something to do with Tada’s past? Maybe she was his girlfriend or some important person in his life? All these questions make me want to continue watching it!
So yeah, like I just said, I would definitely want to continue watching Golden Time. To be honest, I’m not really the comedy-type, more the drama- and psychological-type, but every now and then I’d also like to laugh at a funny scene in an anime. And since I was actually looking for a comedy anime lately, this is perfect!
Though the art style isn’t my favorite, I don’t dislike it either. I’ve seen better styles, but I’ve also seen worse. So I guess you could say it fits well enough to the characters and the plot. And speaking of characters and plot, I also like the design of each individual I’ve met so far and, like I said, the story is also great. And since I find the mixture between comedy and drama a bit difficult sometimes, I’m really curious if they succeeded in this anime.
Okay, before I say goodbye, I’d like to thank The Reviewer’s Corner for this recommendation. I’ll definitely continue Golden Time and maybe I’ll even write a review about it! And of course thank you for collaborating with me, I really enjoyed it and I hope you did too! 🙂
