In that half-awake state after being awake for an hour during the week, I can be a little random. I am even more random from 10-midnight on the weekends. At the same time I can screw myself over. This was one of those things waking up during the week I did a poll. It did very well, so I just screwed myself over. Plus I mean since joining twitter I gained the odd obsession with anime moms. So to be a man of my word, here are the Top Five Anime Moms for Mother’s Day.

Since I am having a little difficulty thinking of where to begin, time to explain how I label the mom character, since it is different from other tiers.

The mom figure fits into two categories. One I don’t even use to label waifu tier, that being looks. I never judge a best girl or waifu on looks, looks are just a perk. However with anime mom’s looks seem to be the main role that attracts me to them. This is just rather odd. The other is always the more important in all categories, personality. Since a majority of the time they are really fun characters. But enough about my questioning this in any way, then again someone pointed out on Twitter most anime mom’s look in their 20s, so I guess that makes sense why I like them.

Number ??: Arturia Pendragon (Saber)

I would put waifu at number one, but there is a problem. Technically she is a father. With a weird backstory in Mo-chan’s birth. That Arturia became Arthur. Thus Mordred was born. Mo-chan is the only other type of Saber I care for, so obviously I have to put King of Waifus here, even if she is the dad and referred to as such. If I was to do a Top Five Anime Dads for Father’s day she would be on there, even if parenting is not a strong point for her.

So, yeah, Saber in this case cannot be on this list.

Number 5: Layla Heartfilia (Fairy Tail)

Layla for those that do not know, passed away prior to the start of the series. At the same time her role does grow over time as the manga progresses. Sometimes in unexpected ways. But I do rather like her. This list became a little difficult thinking of who could go in this spot, and Layla came to mind in a more fitting way. I mean, she is supportive, sort of. She does play a role in Lucy becoming a Celestial Spirit Mage. Oddly enough according to her bio she passed away at the age of 29, so she is probably the youngest on this list. Also the only one that is dead, which is odd since most anime moms that come to mind, that aren’t on this list, are dead. Why is that?

Number 4: Junko Kaname (Madoka Magica)

Where can I begin? I mean, with Madoka’s mom, she really fits the categories very well. She may not have many appearances, but I just like her. This is more for looks than personality. This is flip-flopping trend throughout all of this, especially since I am also writing this in an odd order. Anyway, I just really liked her character. But she does fit the role rather well, considering she lets her daughter be a magical girl without any knowledge what so ever of what is happening.

Number 3: All Mom’s in Love Live.

Still waiting for Mama Live. I was told about it in the film. In fact that is when a majority of the mom’s appeared. I think oddly Nico’s mom was the first I actually liked, and considering I see Nico as worst girl, it is odd thinking Nico’s mom is best mom.

Anyway, there is not much I can say about them. Each is supportive in their own way. The downside is that none of them really make a lot of appearances in the show. Honkers mom appears from time to time and Kotori’s mom is probably the most important of them all.

So I want Mama Live to see more. The moms are Honoka’s, Nico’s, and Maki’s, they’re the only ones I could find through old tweets.

Number 2 & 1: Lisa Lisa (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures Part 2) & Irisviel von Einzbern (Fate/Zero but especially Fate/Prisma)

I cannot pick either or for the number 1 spot. It would hurt my pride too much putting one over the other at the number 2 spot. So they bother share number one and number 2.

Lisa Lisa, before it was revealed who her real identity is, was my favorite Jojo female character. I may still be watching Part 3, but right now she is also Jojo best girl and mom. I just like her. She is different from all the others on this list. She is cool, bad ass, insanely good-looking, genius, and so much more. How could I not. In fact she was the first that came to mind when thinking of this list.

As for Irisviel, she is the mostly lovely. In Fate/Zero she may have a tragedy. But she is bad ass in that one, she thinks, acts, and is not afraid. In Fate/Illiya is a Magical Girl (since I can never remember the name) she is super fun, random, and just amazing in general. Granted I do not think I will watch season 4, but if I do, it will probably be for her. In fact she is more on this list due to her role in Fate/Prisma. She always seems to steal the show away when she shows up. Sure she might not always be around, but when she is, she is the highlight of the episode.

However, all the ones, even my two favorite ones of all time cannot touch the true top of this list. They somehow go beyond number 0, but since a negative number would not work. Let’s just say, well. Here:

God Teir: Fate Testarossa and Takamachi Nanoha (Mahou Shojo Lyrical Nanoha franchise)

Both are referred to as Fate Mama and Nanoha Mama by Vivo. Let’s also face the facts that they are probably married behind the scenes, and both being seen as Vivo’s mom, I mean, come on, of course they are. They fit so many of my favorites for a lot of things. This is just one thing they go way beyond the list for. Both are very carrying, different, and treat Vivo differently yet still like their own daughter.  StrickerS was amazing since, besides them being adults, Vivo really confirmed their relationship. They are even more for her in the spinoff Vivid. Plus they fit a lot of the categories, sure they may not be here for looks, but no matter how I look at it, they are best moms.
