So, I am starting to see them reusing animated scenes but with different backgrounds is sort of upsetting. A lot of people are noticing it too. But at the end of the day, I am also not bothered by it. It is still a little weird though. This episode had it more towards the end. Either way, hopefully this changes where it is not like that, and let’s just get right into it.
The Plot:
So, with the gang pretty much barely cutting by and surviving on scraps and part time jobs, Kazuma decides to go into a dungeon. Although Aqua and Megumin wish Darkness gets back, Kazuma knows there is not much time. Mostly, since it was a newly discovered area in a pretty cleaned out dungeon. Also Megumin can’t go into the dungeon, since, well, an explosion in a small underground maze is probably not a good idea.
So, since Megumin was mostly there to just carry their stuff, they go straight for the dungeon. The dungeon itself was created a long time ago by a great wizard.
Kazuma goes by himself, well only for a short time until Aqua shows up. Kazuma’s abilities would be more than enough to see in the dark and hide from enemies.
But, something is off about Aqua, and the more undead show up the more it is her time to shine as she purifies them.
Not too long into their journey they make it to Keele. He happens to be the once great wizard who created the dungeon. Long ago he asked the king if the woman he loves could be happy. Well, she was sort of married, and they then ran off together while being chased by the kingdom. Long story short he became a Lich and is now undead. He only recently woke up since he felt a tremendous holy power.
So, Aqua purifies him.
Then as they leave with the treasure Kazuma realizes that the undead are attracted to Aqua. In fact, because of that they probably would not have run into any undead if not for her. So Kazuma runs off.
Well, with the quest done Kazuma wishes to put the money all to pay off his debt, that was until it leads to a night of partying so all that money clearly did not pay anything off. So, the episode ends with Kazuma regretting everything.
Overall Thoughts:
This episode felt short for some reason. But it was not. Well, at least next week it looks like Darkness will return it will be a little clearer on what is going on with her.
The episode was still fun. Certainly was a lot more self-contained and had zero affect overall on the story. But we will probably get a throwback at some point. I mean there was a few this episode, Kazuma learning the thief skill, the succubus thing from episode 9 just to name a few.
Still the episode was enjoyable, mostly for the Kazuma and Aqua moments. Konosuba did have stronger episodes before, so there is also that.
Overall Enjoyment: 75/100
Konosuba is streamed by Crunchyroll.
