Alright, time to conclude what happened last week. I do hope this does not become a trend. Either way not much to say, but it was still a nice way to end and tie up some loose ends from the previous arc.
The Plot:
Last episode ended with the Basara capturing Shimon with his strings. It turns out that if anyone where to cut the strings, well it drains a person’s life. So, the Twin Stars and company make a quick run for it.
Meanwhile all the other Guardians are finding out that well, all the exorcists that they were meant to backup have disappeared. There are also no signs of Kegare in town too, so no Dragon Spot sort of situation.
Anyway back to the young exorcists. They cut the strings off Shimon. Of course he was about to rip them off and throw his life away to protect them. But since the strings are made of spell power, they can be disabled with spell power.
After a short and obvious friendship time speech by Mayura, Shimon and Rokuro go to fight the Spider Dude.
The spider dude well, actually turns into a spider like monster, suit wise. Shimon uses his trump card and gets his powers to maximum. He fights off the Basara for a while, even deals the finishing blow.
But it does not end there. All the dolls of his twin are about to blow up killing everyone, and himself. Leave it to Rokuro to use his new move, which simultaneously destroys all the dolls and exorcizes the Basara and saving the day. And of course Shimon and Rokuro are now best buds.
In the post credits Shimon needs to go and meet the other Guardians. Something is going down soon.
Overall Thoughts:
I rather enjoyed this episode. It gave time for Shimon and Rokuro to actually fight together. In the manga the two were not really close, at least as far as I read. They were starting to get along, and well, although there are clear differences in the manga and this. Last time I did say it felt like it was turning into a Shimon episode. This episode certainly was. But that was okay, since Rokuro had plenty of time to shine to.
The two finally put aside their differences that been around since that dreaded episode 5. Rokuro even got to use his new move that he mentioned in the previous episode to save everyone. Although there are more questions in overall plot for this arc, and I do hope it does not continue to be two part episodes. It was still an enjoyable conclusion to what started last week.
Overall Enjoyment: 85/100
