Well, as is tradition it is that time of year again where I do 12 Days of looking back on anime throughout the year. This year is different, being the blog’s 5 Year Anniversary, a means to celebrate I decided to make it 12 Days of Top 5s instead. I will also be looking at more than just anime too. While it is the end of a decade, I was thinking of doing anime that was in the last 10 years, however, I decided to shorten it to focus on stuff in the last 5 years. The posts in this series will relate to the blog, things in the last year, and things in the last 5 years. So, a lot of work has gone into these posts. I will probably keep this intro throughout all of them. Either way I hope you enjoy.
Well, seeing the blog is 5 years old, the third anniversary and 500th post, which surprisingly in two years I am not at 200 posts past that. I really did slack this year. Anyway, that Top 5, which honestly might have been one of the last ones I did, was focusing on the most memorable posts of those 500 posts. I decided to start off this series of posts looking back on some of my favorite posts that I wrote. In some cases, it might be a weekly review. So, without further ado:
Number 5 and 4: Konosuba Season 2 and Keijo!!!!!!! Episode Reviews
Both series of posts can be found here on the Weekly Reviews Tab here and here.
Anyway, these two I kind of must give a tie, since they are somewhat both for the same reason. Both are comedies and shows I did spend weeks writing about over a few months as new episodes came out and looked forward to writing about. I just enjoyed both the show themselves and then trying to find funny ways to review it. From the titles, to what and how I talked about it. Keijo, dealing a lot with the butt puns, and Konosuba with just the randomness that it may contain. While Keijo is unlikely to get another season since the manga was canceled at the time the anime aired, I still hope that Konosuba will get a third season at some point. Hopefully soon I can get a review out about the movie that aired this year. Still, both were a lot of fun, and memorable, and were some of my more favorite posts to work on these past five years.
Number 3: Top 5 Anime Moms
That can be found here.
I think this one of the first times I am talking about a Top 5 within a Top 5. It is a little weird. Then again, I think I did do a Top 5 Top 5s before. If I didn’t, don’t be surprised if I do a post like that later. Anyway, this one has a sort of unique history to it. It started as a joke as I did a poll on Twitter. The poll itself did surprisingly well, so I went through it. And those that have been following my Twitter know I do like anime moms. So, yeah, that was my reasoning for doing the post. I remember also making a Top 5 Anime Dads for father’s day to balance it out and also have a lot of fun doing. I just remember this one more and had a lot more fun doing it. While I would put both here, Moms are the true MVP.
Number 2: Pokemon Fire Red Review
Review can be found here.
I just had a lot of fun doing this post. I did not mean to make it serious, I just wanted to have fun and be a bit goofy remembering the first game I ever played. I had a lot of fun both doing this little joke review and playing the game. It also was a review I added to my final portfolio for college too, which I still find a little funny. It is one of those posts that just means a lot more to me, which is what made me enjoy it so much. I know I included this one on my most memorable posts. But it was still one of my favorites.
Number 1: Top 5 Moments of Dragon Ball Super
Post can be found here.
This is easily my most unique post. It was one that I wrote with my brother. I got him into Dragon Ball, and well, once Super ended I asked him to sit down with me and do a post talking about our favorite moments. It is my favorite because of the time I was able to spend not only writing but doing something with my brother. Sure, I wanted to try to do something similar again when Broly came out, but there was no real way to put it into a post. If I wasn’t lazy and actually watched all of the original Dragon Ball, and then Z I am sure I could have done another post or two in similar fashion. I might, if I ever get around to finishing those shows, I am sure my brother would be willing too. If not, I am sure he would not mind watching Dragon Ball again. Now, behind the scenes for this post my brother and I did a lot of talking, we had moments that we agreed on, ones we liked, and just about everything else. We talked about what we didn’t like, what we were thinking that we also liked, and so on and so forth, it felt like 5 was just not enough. Still, this post holds a special place, making it one of my favorite posts I did these past 5 years.
I did want to mix it up compared to my Memorable posts and a lot of those would be honorable mentions.
I can’t really ask you what your favorite posts of mine, but if you have any post of mine that you liked to feel free to comment.
