12 Days of Top 5s Day 6: Male Characters

Well, as is tradition it is that time of year again where I do 12 Days of looking back on anime throughout the year. This year is different, being the blog’s 5 Year Anniversary, a means to celebrate I decided to make it 12 Days of Top 5s instead. I will also be looking at more than just anime too. While it is the end of a decade, I was thinking of doing anime that was in the last 10 years, however, I decided to shorten it to focus on stuff in the last 5 years. The posts in this series will relate to the blog, things in the last year, and things in the last 5 years. So, a lot of work has gone into these posts. I will probably keep this intro throughout all of them. Either way I hope you enjoy.

Now, best boys are always hard to find. Mostly because after a year is up, I tend to forget about them. There are few that are super rememberable. After honestly thinking about this post for over an hour, only three really come to mind in the last five years. It is a bit saddening, but, honestly, no real boy comes to mind. Sure, I could talk about a few male characters that come to mind, but they do not really stand out, and thus I don’t feel like they deserve the title to be on this list. So, despite being a Top 5, it is more like a Top 3 today. I will say a few honorable mentions, to those who do not make the rank of Best Boy but still should deserve a mention.

Honorable Mention:

Rokuro from Twin Star Exorcists. He is a good boy, caring, and honestly if you mess with someone he cares about he will fight your at all costs. But, I don’t know, it just doesn’t feel right to give him the status of best boy.

Number 3: Cabba (Dragon Ball Super)

The cabbage boy, he is the prince of all Saiyans in another universe, and the total opposite to the one that has made himself know throughout all of Dragon Ball. He is caring, thinks about his people, sure he can be a wimp at times, but he pushes himself forward to protect others. He wants to get stronger for others, and looks up to Vegeta, and sees him as a mentor, and how he acts is rather nice change of pace. Also, I just always like the Saiyans from Universe 6.

Number 2: Accelerator (A Certain Magical Index)

I honestly like him for his Evil Laugh than anything.

But, in all seriousness I enjoyed him a lot more in the final season of Index. It gave him more character development, more of a reason why he does things, and honestly just made him a bit more bad ass, but secretly still a really caring guy, for the right people that is.

Number 1: Reigen (Mob Psycho 100)

Now the true Best Boy of all Best Boys, Reigen. Sure, why isn’t Mob here. But, no, I have always liked Reigen. He might be a con artist, but that really is only in name. He doesn’t con anyone, he honestly tries to help them any way he can, he gives advice and is a great role model for Mob. He might not have powers and might deal with a lot of people with psychic powers, but it does not stop him. He is just an overall great guy and will stop at nothing to help others and Mob. Season 2 made me enjoy him even more than I already did. So, I am still hoping for a third season.
