Rolling Girls Review

Rolling Girls

Ok, so it has been since April since my last review. At the same time thinking about it, it really feels like I should do reviews differently. Not in terms of content but in what I review. I like doing weekly reviews, but I can only do one since they take a long time. At the same time I don’t really like going about with a seasonal show review, but those are what I watch the most. If you have any suggestions that would be appreciated.

So, here is an original series that aired in the winter season. There are always a few shows that I pick up over the course of the season when it is either half way done. Sometimes this can be for the better. Sometimes it is not so much. This was one of the shows that I picked up late. Now, just because I was able to catch up in a day for the first half, what does in mean for the second half? So, without further ado, Rolling Girls a coming of age story.

Death Parade Review

deathparade

There were six shows from the winter 2015 season that I was going to review. Among them there were three that were voted on by my readers. This is not one of those. In all honesty for this show, like some shows throughout the anime season, I drop some half way through but this was one of the few that I picked up halfway. This is an original piece, with the fact it had a short film last year known as Death Billiards, this is the follow-up to that. I will note that I did not see the previously mentioned short. But within the last year for original pieces that dare not have any source material very few and very few come start of strong and end stronger than they originally began, is this one of those series?

Love Live Season 2 Review

title for love live Season 1 Review So, this goes all the way back to my fifth review. Back then I was really just starting out. I guess that could have been said when I did the Kamisama Kiss season 2 review. Well I guess this one is a little different compared to the other reviews I have done. For the first season well, Nick from Animecorps posted a lot about it on twitter and his blog from time to time and thanks for getting me into this series by the way. I was a little curious and watched it. So, I guess that is the little backstory. Anyway I enjoyed season one, but does the reason for me enjoying the first season translate well into the second season? Continue reading “Love Live Season 2 Review”

Saekano How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend Review

saekano title

I think what drew me to this series was the title. I think it is weird and a little funny at the same time. I just wanted to know how it worked. I knew it was just going to be another harem series. But just because I knew it was going to be just another harem series did that really make it turn out like other ones or did it turn into something more. Did it turn into something I really did not expect? Well perhaps it did in this harem romantic comedy. I would also like to add this was the top of the poll for shows that people would like me to review for the winter season.

Kamisama Kiss Season 2 Review

Season 1 Review

kamisama kiss title

This is the first show that actually got its second season reviewed first. Granted Magi, and Love Live are also going to be reviewed. Anyway second season onwards are going to be done a little differently compared to other reviews. It will maintain the same structure, but the character portion will only focus on two main characters or characters that changed a lot as well as a part that does not affect the score and is my personal opinion on what I thought compared to the previous series. So, without further ado, time to go and review the second season of my favorite Shojo series, will it be better than the first? Also season one review can be found here.

Fairy Tail Manga Volume 1 Review

FairyTail-Volume_1_Cover      This is based on of my favorite anime series, it made me want to watch more anime, which is why I label it as my favorite. The one that gave me the push to watch more shows. Once it ended for the first time, I was distraught. Once, the arc finished in the manga I decided to read the manga with the new arc. This pushed me to read more manga. Without it I would not have read series like Akame ga Kill, Attack on Titan, D-Frag, ect. It was also the first manga that I bought as well. Does the series that caused so much for me hold up to what it started when going back at the source material?

Attack on Titan Manga Volume 1 Review

Before I begin with my random talking to introduce the review I would like to say that for all my manga reviews, although hopefully I will remember to post something like this at the start, that I am only going to review manga that I buy. Since I buy manga that I like enough to buy it, I will do my best to be as least bias then my normal reviews since entertainment factor plays more of a role for what I find entertaining. If you feel this is a problem for the manga reviews, then I would like to apologize, but you can at least get the perceptive of someone who enjoys it to the point where they bought it, although I am making sure I do point out its flaws so it does not look like I am not giving it just praise. At the same time I will make a brief say on my thoughts before the final score that if this holds up to later or prior to the point in the series, this in no way will affect the score of the review since it did not happen yet. With that said, time to get to the actual review.

attack-on-titan-vol-1

Attack on Titan, came in as a colossal and is still taking the world by storm. Is it over hyped and not lived up to the hype from its roots. Is the hype well placed, or is it very misplaced. Does it deserve it with the manga adaptation as well with how much the anime is loved by seemingly everyone that are anime fans and non-anime fans alike? What exactly did I discover reading this series a second time around?

Akame_ga_Kill_volume_1_cover

Akame ga Kill, I honestly feel like I am bringing it up almost every week if not every other week here. As I have mentioned time and time again it is my favorite manga. When the manga was announced to get an official English release I did my high pitch joy screech that not only put twelve-year-old girls at their favorite boy band to shame but has my family questioning if there is something wrong with their twenty-two year old son. The high pitch screech nearly returned once more in the store when going to purchase it and I think I frightened one of the customers. However, will going back down memory lane for my favorite series be a good thing or will it make me question liking this series as a whole. This is reviewed as a Dark Fantasy, Tragedy.

Kamisama Kiss Season 1 Review

Season 2 Review

Wow, this is the first series I am reviewing that I actually watched on purpose since my second review. With the new season currently airing and the fact that I hardly remembered season one since I watched it nearly two years ago I decided to revisit this series. So far the new season has the charm that I remembered the first season had which made me like it to begin with. However sometimes watching a show you have not seen in a while can shed new light onto something old in this romantic comedy.
