Day 14: A manga you never really liked
This one is an odd one. To me if I don’t like it, why would I read it? So there is no real way for me to say there is one that I never really liked. However, I will add something to this. So, this day has changed. Continue reading “30 Day Manga Challenge Day 14”
What was the first anime you watched?
I am going to give two answers for this one. Scattered throughout my posts since I began I mentioned that I only got into anime three years ago. In fact if I remember correctly it was in January when it happened as well. However, there are some shows that I watched in my younger days that counted as anime, despite me not knowing what anime was.
When I was younger I was not allowed to watch shows like Power Rangers, Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and a few others that where anime, or deemed too violent for me. This was mostly due to my parents being overprotective of me, their first child. However like most people I watched Digimon, Yu-gi-oh, and my favorite Megaman NT Warrior, those where not the first series I watched. The first one was Pokemon.
I remember the exact episode too. It was the Ponyta race, where it evolves into Rapadash. It was three thirty in the afternoon and it was on UPN38, although the show later switched to WB. I find it weird how detailed I can remember that, since I was only five or six at the time. In all honesty, despite not watching the show anymore, even though I tried with X and Y, but I still play the games. The show will always have a place in my memories for it.

Okay, now it is time for the other series, the one that started three years ago. Fairy Tail really made me watch a lot more series, but that was the fifth show I watched. In all honesty I had the perceptive of anime that a lot of people have, that it is weird, involves tentacles, and a few other things. I will admit that at times it is weird, but it is just something a lot of people do not think about. So when I watched this anime series, I did not even know it was an anime series until I finished. It is known as Deltora Quest.
Okay, so people are probably wondering, what is Deltora Quest? It was a show that appeared on The Hub for a while. I only saw an episode on TV before watching it online. I loved the fantasy aspect of it, since this was at that point in my high school years where I was re-watching a bunch of old cartoons and I had so much free time. I watched through it all, and wanted to know a little more about it. This was after I finished it when I found out that it was indeed an anime. That was when my thoughts about anime really changed, and what it could be. The following series was the Oh My Goddess, then Code Geass, and so on till I watched the over 200 series today. Deltora Quest really got my mind in the set that anime is not what a lot of people think it is, sometimes yes it is, but that is far in few for series. If not for this series, I would not be writing about anime here today.
