Well, as is tradition it is that time of year again where I do 12 Days of looking back on anime throughout the year. This year is different, being the blog’s 5 Year Anniversary, a means to celebrate I decided to make it 12 Days of Top 5s instead. I will also be looking at more than just anime too. While it is the end of a decade, I was thinking of doing anime that was in the last 10 years, however, I decided to shorten it to focus on stuff in the last 5 years. The posts in this series will relate to the blog, things in the last year, and things in the last 5 years. So, a lot of work has gone into these posts. I will probably keep this intro throughout all of them. Either way I hope you enjoy.
So, it is typically around this point of these series of posts where I am struggling for ideas. I know what I want to do for the last few, but, then there is the middle ground before that where I have no idea what to do. So, here I am, doing this. This will be my favorite female characters in the last five years of anime. Most of these characters won Best Girl of the Year in my eyes, but some are the runners up.
Number 5: Setsuna Meioh (Sailor Pluto)
Now I have come full circle. I swear I cannot go a year without blogging without bringing up the fabled Sailor Moon Crystal Reviews, and how they are not going to happen despite promising them in the first month of blogging. So, yeah. But I still stand by what I said back in 2016’s 12 Days of Anime. I like the mature beauties that also kick butt. If it wasn’t so long ago and I remembered more, than I am sure she would have been later on this list.
Number 4: Chise (The Ancient Magus’ Bride)
Well, lets see, the manga is one of my favorites, the anime is also one of my favorites, it should not be surprising that the main character is again, one of my favorites. So, why shouldn’t Chise be on here. I just like her. Sure, she starts off rather depressed, but her character grows and even though she doesn’t really trust anyone at first her heart starts to accept more and more people into her life, and she wants to help people any way she can. It is for this reason why I really like Chise.
Number 3: Kale and Caulifa (Dragon Ball Super)
They are a packaged deal. I mean, this is the third year in a row where I have mentioned them in the Best Girl post. They both work so well with each other, fighting, one being a little more reserved while the other being gunho. It makes the two together more enjoyable. Plus they both know how to kick butt.
Number 2: Akagi and Kaga (Azur Lane)
Okay, so I did not see the anime. But the anime aired, and they did appear. My love for these two mostly comes from the game. They work so well together, and honestly have a lot of buffs that rely on the other. How they act, well, they might not be fine with anyone getting close to their beloved, but it seems that their only exceptions is each other. Plus, I like the Yandere and the Cold-heartedness of each of them. Maybe someday I will see the anime, when it finishes that is.
Number 1: Saber Artoria (Fate/ Series)
Long time followers know why. So, I am just going to leave it at that, and here is every picture that I have used on this blog with her. Hopefully first-time readers can figure out why.
